We are UNSTOPPABLE at Joy James!
Here's a little peek into what we've been doing:
3rd, 4th, and 5th Grades have been wrapping up their posters for the Red Ribbon Week Contest.
There will be two posters selected from each classroom to be entered into the contest.
Stay tuned for the winners...
2nd Grade has begun to study the French origins of the artist, Henri Rousseau. We watched this Five Facts of France video and took an in-depth look at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France. Using lines and shapes, we created pictures of the Eiffel at Night.
1st grade has continued to learn about Wassily Kandinsky. Kandinsky was from Russia, so we have dove into a study of Russian culture.
We read Rechanka's Eggs by Patricia Polacco and used our elements of line and shape to design pysanky eggs.
Kindergarten has also been exploring the French culture of the artist, Henri Matisse. We read Madeline by Ludwig Bemelmans and used shapes to make twelve little girls in two straight lines.
It's been a wonderful first six weeks of JJE Art! Looking forward to many more weeks!
